  • innopsych.com

InnoPsych was birthed from Dr. Jackman’s own experiences and challenges during her search for a therapist. She knew she wanted a therapist who was a woman for color but the process proved itself to be a challenge.

As she searched through website after website there were either too few therapists listed to choose from and/or there was no way to filter lists by ethnicity. The process then became lengthy and cumbersome. Whenever she did find someone that she liked who fit the criteria, they were either “not taking new clients” or they did not take her insurance.

She knew that there needed to be a simpler and faster way for people of color to find therapists of color and she was going to create it! Not only did she want to create a directory of therapists of color, but she also wanted to facilitate the process for therapists of color to launch their own private practice in order to increase the pool of therapists of color in the field.

  • therapyforlatinx.com

Mental Health can be challenging, Finding a Therapist shouldn't be.

For so many intersectional communities including Latinx, Black, and those who are marginalized there are so many barriers to finding a mental health professional the most common are financial, lack of insurance coverage, language, transportation, and of course we have a huge lack of representation which can often lead to further trauma, dealing with racial micro aggressions, discrimination, and xenophonia.

We believe that access to mental health is a human right. We dream of a future where therapy is normalized, more accessible and includes our various cultures. We will always stand behind movements that further these values. We are so proud of you for starting this journey, you will be an ancestor one day and just like trauma can be passed down so can resilience.

  • therapyfortherapistscollective.com

The Collective believes that despite the incredibly important work we do to support the mental health of those in our communities, we don’t have the resources we need to keep ourselves well while we do that work. Now, more than ever, the world needs mental health providers, and we need to acknowledge that that need is a heavy load to carry, as we ourselves navigate a lot of the same challenges we are supporting others through.

Right now, we are a team of ONE social worker, and a few really awesome volunteers, who see a BIG problem, and are working to create meaningful change through the power of mutual aid. Our Director, Emily Oliver, launched the Collective in July 2021. We now have members in almost 40 states, are working on filing for non-profit status, and are truly making meaningful change to reduce burnout.

We are based in the United States, and the goal is to be able to have therapists in all 50 states, with a diverse representation of our amazing community, including POC therapists, LGBTQIA therapists, therapists of all ages and specialties, of many religions and backgrounds, to provide inclusion and access to all of the beautifully diverse therapists within our community.

  • yellowchaircollective.com

We believe therapy should honor you as a whole person, not just the challenges you’re facing right now.

When life gets difficult, it’s easy to feel like we’re defined by our challenges. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, burnout, depression, life transition, relationship issues, or just feeling “off,” what you’re facing may feel so overwhelming right now that it’s difficult to remember who you are without it.

We’re here to remind you that you’re so much more than that.

Your individual experiences, your culture, and your unique identity have all shaped who you are today. At YCC, we don’t simply view therapy as addressing the problem you’re facing or the symptom you’re experiencing. We take into account who you are as a person first and what is truly important to you. Because when that bigger picture guides the therapy process, you get the kind of support that can lead to genuine, long-lasting change.
